Saturday 6th April, we set off in the early hours to get to Harrogate to set up our stand for the British Craft Trade Fair.
The British Craft Trade Fair is a 3 day Trade only event where you sell your products to retailers across the UK. The actual show has been going for 44 years and it is a unique event as it sells only 100% British made products from hundreds of makers.
We had a great journey up and arrived with plenty of time to start unloading the car and setting up the stand.
Left: Yorkshire Event Centre. Right: Michelle doing the DIY setting up our stand.
Stephanie (Left) was then left to organise the layout of the stand (she isn't trusted with doing ANY DIY).
We took along our Beachcomber & Marksbury Collections but we also launched our Country Collection which consists of: Hares, Pheasants, Stags, Cockerels & Hens which are on placemats, coasters and greeting cards and will be coming out on tea towels and other accessories in the not to distant future.
We had a variety of product ranges from tea towels and trays to cushions and lampshades but we also took our greeting card range and we have also launched 3 new doggie designs in a new collection called k9. Fred, Slinky & Louie are a Basset Hound, Dachshund & French Bulldog.
It always takes a while setting up the stand as it can be quite fiddly but we got there in the end!
We then went and checked into our hotel Cedars Court Hotel (we didn't manage to take any pictures of this but we have linked it for you). It was a nice hotel and it was great for the 3 nights we stayed there.
After checking in, we wondered into the centre of Harrogate to get something to eat as we didn't stop on the way up. We stumbled upon Betty's and thought we would try to get in there and we successfully managed to get one of the last tables.
We had the most delicious Grand Raspberry Macaroon with Earl Grey Tea - it was absolutely delightful. It was great to be able to visit and eat at such a historic place and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area (assuming you can get in so if you want to go, I would recommend booking ahead).
We then went and wondered around the shops for a bit and them made our way to dinner, taking some snaps along the way.
Harrogate is such a pretty area, we wished we could of done some more exploring of the areas, however, duty called but we will be planning another trip soon!
Our Stand for British Craft Trade Fair 2019. Over the 3 days we met lots of buyers as well as designer makers and it was a great time for us as it was actually our first trade show specifically for the product we took with us and we had such a great reaction.
We also had some great stand neighbours - Jewellery by Annamarie & Hello Day.
Going to these events, it is always nice to meet other makers and find out what they are doing as it is always so inspiring but also makes you think about your own business.
After day 3, it was time to pack up our stand, load the car and head back to Norfolk. It was such a beautiful drive home, it was so nice to drive in the beautiful sunshine across the UK and we were really inspired by all of the beautiful countryside this country has to offer. We were certainly inspired and have come back with lots of bustling ideas to get on with!
